Certification in LEGO® Based Therapy, Certified TEACCH Trainer
School based education specialist for 22 years (early intervention)
Currently, I specialize in teaching social skills, pre academics, and self regulation. I also assess incoming 3 year olds to see if they meet the criteria for special education.
I use the Social Thinking curriculum to teach students how to connect thoughts, feelings, and behavior. I have a LEGO® Club in my classroom. I find it supports cooperative learning, listening skills, problem solving, and social pragmatics. It also promotes a variety of social skills to include taking/waiting turns, relinquishing items, self control, and sustained group play.
When I am not working I enjoy travel, gardening, and dancing.
